2021 HFA Talent Show!! We’re putting on a mask, finding out we’ve got talent, using our voices, and presenting our X factor… in the HFA Zoom In Talent Show 2021! All are welcome, including staff, students, and YES your parents too! You can join in 3 easy steps: 1) Figure out your Talent – anything. Perhaps you sew. Maybe you draw. Telling Jokes could be your thing. Standing on your head? Family dancing and singing? Performing parkour? What ever it is, we want to see it. 2) Record yourself performing your talent. Use your phone, your tablet, your digital video recorder, your vintage 1987 VHS Camcorder…okay not that. How ever you record it, make sure its high definition and has a good sound. 3) Upload it by June 4th to: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1OQHTmMaBtVUITkIeZpVLtFlfQCMeaN5N?usp=sharing That’s it, we’ll do the rest. We’ll edit it in with skits and other fun things, have a couple of ‘famous’ hosts join us, and during the last week of school, we’ll zoom share the amazing things our students, staff, and their families can do! Call On Your Family is a legendary song that has echoed through the halls, classrooms, gymnasiums and church of our Catholic community since the late 1990’s. George Simpson, was the music teacher at HFA from 1997-1999 and composed the music as well as wrote the lyrics to this beautiful piece. It brings tears to my eyes each and every time it is sung... especially by the students of HFA, CTK and SJC. City Council has declared May 10-14, 2021 as Catholic Education Week in the City of Brooks. The 2020-21 school year marks the 25th year of Catholic Education in Brooks. The local Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division consists of Holy Family Academy, Christ The King Academy, St. Joseph's Collegiate, and St. Luke's Outreach. Over the years, the students, staff and families of the Catholic schools have been active and productive citizens of this community through their acts of service and involvement in businesses and recreation. Recently, the Brooks Chamber of Commerce has nominated Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools as Employer of the Year and Christ The King Academy for the Business Diversity award.
