Brooks’ Catholic Schools are celebrating 25 years of Catholic education in their community through interviews and story sharing. Episode 3: GATHERED as Leaders 2002-2014 explores the dozen years following the first graduation at St Joseph’s Collegiate. A significant facility addition completely changed the look and life of the schools. St Luke’s Outreach opened a campus in Brooks and the arrival of English Language Learners from around the world shifted the community’s demographic make-up and enriched the culture and education of the schools. In light of the horrific findings at the residential school in Kamloops B.C, CTR Catholic schools will lower their flags to half-mast and all students and staff will be encouraged to wear orange tomorrow (Monday, May 31) . Let us pray for the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Nations of southern BC and all of Canada’s indigenous peoples especially the lost children and all those suffering from trauma associated with residential schools.
