Students brought food items and monetary donations for our Thanksgiving Food Drive this whole week! In total, we raised $499.60 for the St. Vincent de Paul society and brought in 607 food items for the Brooks Food bank! Congratulations to Mrs. Lubbers class for the most $ donations and Mrs. Seibels class for the most food items. We also had some very helpful grade 4 students take the food items to Mr. Fleck's vehicle so he could transport them to the food bank. This week we honored Truth and Reconciliation Day (Sept. 30). Numerous classes watched and read stories about residential schools, participated in many activities, celebrated First Nations songs and stories, recognized the importance of land acknowledgements, as well as wore orange shirts today. #HFAallTheWay #TruthAndReconciliation #CTRcatholic

Two Brooks RCMP officers stopped by HFA today for a friendly visit. Mrs. Deis invited them into her class to say hello to the students. These two officers were amazing! They answered dozens of questions (like what hurts more: a tazer or pepper spray), and were very engaging! We are so lucky to have such awesome officers in our small community! #HFAallTheWay #BrooksRCMP

We had an awesome Terry Fox Walk today! #HFAallTheWay #DearTerry

HFA is participating in the Terry Fox Walk on Friday morning at 10:00am. Parents are welcome to join and walk with their child's class. It's also hat day! Bring $2 to wear a hat in school that day. All proceeds will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation. #HFAallTheWay #CTRcatholic #HFAwellness #DearTerry

Does your child enjoy singing?! Please consider them joining the Children's Choir at St. Mary's church. It's open to children aged 6 -12 who love to sing and worship God! We lead music for the 11am service on the last Sunday of every month and practice the Saturday before. If you can't commit to every month--no worries! Come when you can!
